More Time for Mom
Are you a worn-out mom who used to be the star of the office, spend 45 minutes doing your hair and makeup, and take romantic getaways before you had kids…but now you’re constantly behind and out of PTO at work, there are three days’ worth of dishes piled in the sink, the kids scream when tablet time is over, and you’re so touched out by 8pm that you scroll Instagram instead of spending time with your husband?
Welcome to the club. If you’re paralyzed by what to do first whenever you miraculously find 15 free minutes and fall asleep in tears because you’ve always tried to do everything right but now it feels so wrong, you are NOT alone. I went crazy trying to “balance” it all and believing other experts who tell you to just wake up earlier or manage your time better. Turns out you’re not the problem; toxic productivity culture has led you to equate your self-worth with what you have to show for your time.
I’ve spent years applying my PhD research skills to find scientifically proven strategies for keeping up without burning out—then tailoring them for busy mamas whose hands, hearts, and schedules are fuller than they ever imagined. Now I’ve helped dozens of other women discover the hidden causes behind your stress so you can reclaim your time, restore your energy, rediscover your identity, and look back in 20 years with pride instead of regret.
Join me, Dr. Amber Curtis—certified life coach, behavioral science professor, public speaker, devoted wife, and mom of four—every Tuesday for real, raw stories and actionable advice on productivity, organization, time management, and that elusive thing we call work-life “balance” so you can be the happy, present wife and mom you dream of without sacrificing the talents you’re meant to share with the world.
Ready to make more time for YOU? Hit play and make sure to tune in for new episodes every Tuesday.
It's time to take back your life for who and what you love. You’ll soon realize “time” was never the problem after all.

This might be the craziest thing I have ever done, and it feels so vulnerable that I am leaving open the possibility of taking down this episode sometime soon. But I also feel like someone needs to hear this. Welcome to More Time for Mom, where overwhelmed moms get science-backed strategies to overcome the hidden sources of stress stealing your time and joy. I'm your host, Dr. Amber Curtis, ready to make more time for you, Let's dive in. I have been behind in getting podcast episodes out the last couple weeks, not because they aren't recorded, but because summer is in full swing. I've got my four sweet boys home with me. The days are so long, so loud, and I'm just so exhausted by the end of the evening that I crash into bed and don't want to sabotage my health by staying up all night to get them edited. Please know that I have some great, great content coming for you, specifically the episode on what I do not say to my kids, following up on the cliffhanger I left you with on my last episode. But today, I am interrupting that programming to share with you something straight from my heart. I believe so strongly in the power of coaching that I will never not have a coach myself. In fact, I have several. I have invested in so much over the last few years. It has fundamentally changed my life and it fuels me to keep serving you. Recently, one of my coaches and mentors, and she's actually one of my dearest friends, she gave me the assignment of recording an audio message of what my purpose is, what my message is, who I am, what I stand for, who I serve. What I am about to share is exactly that. You will hear that I recorded it in the car while I was driving, that it is entirely off the cuff. It is just the words that poured out of me, the emotion that poured out of me as the words came out. And I'm just hoping that again, someone out there needs to hear this, that it's meant for someone, maybe you. So I'm just going to go ahead and share it. I'm going to get it out there and let God do the rest. This is what I want every woman to know. Here it is. Hey sweet mama, I know right now, afraid is the last word you would use to describe yourself. You have always prided yourself on being so strong. That's how you've had to be. You are fiercely self-reliant. The world taught you from an early age that no one else could be trusted, that you not only had to take care of yourself, but that you had to be so hyper-attuned to everyone else's moods and needs and change who you were so that you could be who they needed you to be to make them happy, help them feel better so that you could finally feel safe. I want you to see how beautiful that is. And also to feel the toll it has taken on you. The big toll it has taken on yourself. I want to work with you. I want to help you see and know and feel. how very much God loves you, that he's always been there, and that all your wounds are not flaws or failures. They are places where he's inviting you to let him in. I would be so honored to be part of your healing journey. This is the journey that I have been on, that I am still on, and I am so freaking passionate about helping all of us realize our true worth and then know how deeply and fully we are loved so that we don't ever respond to our children out of our wounded place. And then we can finally provide for them the love and the safety that we didn't have growing up. Our wounds stop with us. We are not, not passing these on to our children. We are breaking the cycle of pain and we are going to be that light for the world. Deep down, I know you are afraid. You're afraid that you're not enough. You're afraid that healing isn't possible. You're afraid of what other people think. You're afraid it won't work for you. You're afraid of what will happen if you keep going the way you always have. It's taken me way longer than it should have. To take to heart the truth that God does not operate out of fear. All of our fear is the devil's doing. That is not from God, of God, for God. It's time to let that fear go and step out in trust. Trust in the truth. Trust that you can overcome all that is weighing you down. I will help you see where it all comes from, how it all traces back, how it is woven together into a perfect story that you will shout from the rooftops ever after, and how everything you've been through is part of our common human story. There's nothing wrong with you. You are not alone. Hope is here. You are so invited to reach out. My door is open. And I would love to help you see what God has in store. All right. So there you have it. I hope you can not just hear, but actually feel the conviction in my heart that this is what I am meant for. You are who I am meant to serve. If this resonates, if anything I said landed with you and you feel compelled to reach out, then simply click on the link in the show notes, book your free 60-minute consult call, and let's talk. I will get the next episode out as quickly as possible and resume consistent weekly episodes as soon as possible. But in the meantime, I am still here. I am always there for my clients, serving them at the highest level, and working with these amazing women fills me up. It lights me up. Let this soak in. Nothing you do changes how wonderful and worthy you are. Have a great day. I know more than anyone how precious your time is. So the fact that you spent it listening to this podcast means the world. Make sure to subscribe. And if you got value out of this show, I would be so honored if you'd leave a review and share this episode with another busy mama who needs to hear it. We've got this.
